Agriculture in our country






Nepal is an agricultural country. About 80% of the people of Nepal are farmers. About 40% of the total annual income of the country is from agriculture. Moreover, a large part of the country's export is agricultural products. Food for all the people is derived from agriculture, and raw materials for most industries also come from agriculture. So, agriculture is very important in our country.

CLASSIFICATION OF CROPS

There are many types of crops grown in Nepal. They can be grouped broadly into two classes:
Food Crops and Cash Crops

Food Crops: The crops which are used as food by the people as soon as they are harvested are called ' food crops' Rice, maize,wheat, millet, potato, etc are the main food of Nepal.


Cash Crops: The crops which are sold for Money when They are  harvested are called cash crops. jute sugarcane, tobacco, tea, etc. are the main cash crops of our
country.
